Access Statement
Access Statement for The Southern Introduction The Southern occupies a fine old building, formerly a merchant's house, built early in the 19th century. It features an impressive faηade, with a short flight of stone steps. Inside, there is a beautiful, original, mahogany staircase to the two upper floors. Our kitchen and dining rooms are downstairs. These features mean that, whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests as far as possible, there are some features that make access difficult for people with limited mobility or with visual impairment. The building is not suitable for wheelchair access. Lounge, Dining Room & Bar The lounge is reached from the reception area. It is carpeted, and has ample, varied seating
Our licensed bar is located in the lounge on the ground floor The dining room is accessed from the reception area via a flight of 9 steps with handrail on both sides Breakfasts are included in our prices. Evening dinners are available, but must be pre-booked Vegetarian options are available - please give advance notice if these are required The dining room has ample seating and table spaces Leisure Facilities The lounge has a large TV, in the low season, and all rooms have televisions and alarm radios There are no fitness or other leisure activities in the building
